So yeah, during E3 myself and
got entirely too excited about Bungie's newest game and decided to throw some Destiny cosplays together at the last minute for Metrocon. I specifically went off of this concept art: static01.bungie.net/pubassets/…
and he used this render of a Hunter: cdn2-b.examiner.com/sites/defa…
The helmet and collar need some repairs and finishing touches, but they looked good enough to make me happy so I wore the cosplay for twelve hours straight on Saturday. I have never been so tired in my life.
The LMG, Super Good Advice, was a relatively simple nerf mod done through the combined efforts of
, and myself. We started with a nerf gun that was a lying around and sanded off the some of the parts and logos (
was a huge help with this), and then mounted the box mag and scopes onto the body using mod melts resin and various types of glue. Then we hit it with apoxie and taped it off and painted it.
The helmet was made primarily by doing unspeakable things to an Iron Man airsoft helmet. Believe it or not, parts of the visor are actually PVC sheets that were layered and painted to match the actual visor.
honestly deserves most of the credit for how well this turned out, because she is an artistic wizard.
The pauldron and bracer were made out of PVC sheet and a water bottle and were incredibly simple.
All of the robes were made by me using fucktons of suedecloth and pleather. I did it all of that in a single weekend that was spent furiously sewing. The belts were probably the hardest part. I did those by sewing thin pleather around some quilting reinforcer. They attach together using snaps that are hidden inside the loops of the uppermost belt.
